In 1920, after the death of his disturbed mother, the brilliant psychologist Amadeus Arkham began to convert his family home into a hospital for the treatment of the mentally ill. More than half a century later, Arkham's asylum is a place of bleak corridors and oppressive shadows - a dark riddle of stone and wood best left unsolved.
