In the game Time of Empires, you will take on the leadership of a civilization and lead it through centuries from ancient times through the Middle Ages and the Industrial Revolution to modern times.

Each era includes a preparation phase, an action phase, and a scoring phase. Other players have taken on the same task as you and will struggle with life in the action phase at the same time as you in real time. Your two 30-second sand timers will start your actions - expanding territory, building wonders, and discovering new technologies - while the sound accompaniment keeps the pace of history. You probably won't be able to watch everywhere at once, so try to make sure you don't overlook a potential attack because you're too busy helping to complete wonders!
