The Fate of the Adventurer is an adventurous storytelling fantasy game in which players create their hero and "tell" his story. All important actions (encounters, battles, etc.) are resolved using an original rune-rolling system. Players earn fate points during the game, and the player with the most points becomes the winner.

Decide your fate! Call to Adventure is inspired by fantasy stories based on characters, challenging 1-4 players to create a hero with the best destiny by gaining traits, facing challenges, and overcoming foes.

Call to Adventure features a unique "rune-rolling" system for resolving challenges, a point system that supports storytelling, and over 150 unique cards. Players start each game with an origin card that provides their story and two "starting" abilities. In each round, they can either acquire trait cards from the board or face a challenge. Each challenge has two possible paths for the player to choose from. For example, players who encounter the Thieves' Guild can choose to train as a spy or an assassin. Each challenge has a difficulty that must be overcome by rolling success on engraved runes. The more abilities a player has needed to overcome the challenge, the more runes they can roll.

Unsuccessful challenges lead players to gain experience points, which they can spend to "push through" tougher challenges. But beware, while some negative experiences help your hero grow, too many tragedies will lead him down a dark path.

As players' heroes grow in abilities and experiences, they progress to tougher challenges, eventually facing deadly foes and earning more and more fate points. The player whose hero has the highest number of fate points wins the game.
