Arkham Noir je hra pro jednoho hráče inspirována příběhy H. P. Lovecrafta a přepracované do "noir" podoby. Jako soukromý vyšetřovatel Howard Lovecraft se dostanete do hlavní role událostí, které jsou inspirovány knižními předlohami The Lurking Fear" (1923) a "The Diary of Alonzo Typer" (1938). Každá z her je samostatně hratelná.
Ve hře budete vykládat karty, které v případu představují různé dějové linie a staví celkový příběh, který musíte vyřešit. Hlavním cílem je pak vyřešit pět stop, abyste složili celkový obrázek zločinu - to vše dříve než vám dojde vaše psychická vyrovnanost. Pokaždé když opět zamícháte balíček, získáte tak novou formu příběhu a hádanky, která bude novou výzvou. Možností je také zvyšovat si úroveň obtížnosti.
Druhý příběh přináší do hry nové druhy karet, který vám zpestří váš detektivně-mysteriózní zážitek.
