The Pioneer edition comes in a special sturdy dark box and, compared to the retail version, includes an Upgrade Pack with 34 cards that expand the game with additional creature cards and 4 "Mindbug" cards, allowing the game to be played by up to four players.

In Mindbug, you summon hybrid creatures and send them into battle against your opponent – but if you summon a creature, the opponent can use one of his Mindbugs to take control of the creature. With 2 new mechanics, this Mindbug expansion is adding a new level of strategy to your game. Use an action of a creature on your turn to activate extremely powerful new effects. Time them wisely to outmaneuver your opponent. Use the evolve action of our new evolution creatures on your turn and watch your creatures transform into even stronger versions with new abilities.  

This pack includes the 6 promo cards from the Kickstarter version of the expansion First Contact, as well as the promos cards released throughout the year 2022.
