Exploding Kittens is a feline version of Russian Roulette. Players take turns taking turns to draw cards until someone receives an exploding kitten and loses the game. Výbušná koťátka jsou extrémně strategickou verzí ruské rulety (jen s koťátky). Hráči si dobírají karty, dokud si někdo nelízne výbušné koťátko, exploduje, umře a je vyřazen ze hry. Pokud ten hráč nemá kartu Zneškodni, která mu umožní zneškodnit koťátko pomocí laserového ukazovátka, podrbáním na bříšku nebo sendviče s šantou kočičí. Úkolem všech ostatních karet v balíčku je pomoci hráčům držet...

Exploding Kittens je kočičí verze Ruské rulety. Hráči se zde střídají v tazích během kterých si dobírají karty, dokud takto někdo neobdrží vybuchující koťátko čímž prohraje hru. Balíček karet se však skládá z karet, které vám umožňují výbuchu se vyhnout, například tím, že budete moci podívat se na karty předtím než si je vezmete, přinutit protivníka vzít si několik karet najednou či zamíchat...
