Splendor je jednoduchá ekonomická hra. Základní akcí je braní žetonů, berete tři různé nebo dva stejné. Za žetony nakupujete karty, ty stojí různé kombinace barevných žetonů. Každá získaná karta vám dává slevu při placení téže barvy. Dražší karty přinášejí také vítězné body. Navíc hráči bojují o bonusy, které dostane hráč, který nejrychleji získá danou barevnou kombinaci karet.
Přestože Splendor Marvel používá základní pravidla hry Splendor, má jiné téma a především nové podmínky vítězství. Body můžete také získat pomocí kartičky "Avengers Assemble", která může během hry putovat mezi hráči!
