Game variants: Basic variant for beginners or Ordinary Letter Eater: The start is on the blue square, the finish on the pink one. Each player moves as many squares as they rolled. There they say a word starting with the letter they are standing on. If they step on the mouth of the letter eater, they must go back four squares. If they step on a square from which a shortcut leads, they can go further on a shorter path. Whoever reaches the finish line first wins. Písmonožrout psavý variant: In this variant, writing is also practiced and it is a precursor to the game Scrabble. It is played like the Ordinary Letter Eater.
