Survive Peak Oil!
Peak Oil is approaching and as the president of a major oil company, you must find a way to keep your company afloat! To do this, you will have to extract the last reserves of black gold to get the money needed to invest in new technologies that will surely soon replace oil. Of course, you will try to survive this crisis by legal means, but the competition will not be so honorable. So you may have to get your hands dirty too....
In your turn in the game Peak Oil, you assign your agents to various action locations on the game board. If your agents are in the majority at a given action location or you decide to send mercenaries to help them, they will suppress the competition - and allow you to take action. Actions include: development and extraction of oil fields, construction of pipelines, hiring new agents, purchasing new shipping contracts, investing in oil-replacing technologies, PR campaigns, piracy, and manipulation of public opinion and oil prices.
Oil - the small barrels that you extract from the bag when developing new oil fields - will run out. This is called "Peak Oil" and it means the end of the game. Players add up the value of the technologies they invested in and supported during the game. The player who best shaped the future (i.e. gained the greatest favor for their company) wins.
