Island of Cats is a competitive board game for 1-4 players in which you place cat pieces in a square grid and choose cards from a rotating menu. The ability to follow different strategies will bring a challenge to even experienced players, but the game also offers a solo variant and a simplified mode for family play.
You are the noble saviours of an ancient population of wildcats from their home island, which is the destination of the dreaded archmage Vegh the Black-Handed. Each cat is represented by a unique piece. You must figure out how to load as many as possible onto the ship while keeping the cat families together.
You'll have to spend your resources wisely, carefully exploring the island with discovery cards, rescuing cats to find treasures, befriending the mystical breed of oshax, and completing all sorts of quests. Each of these can earn you points, as can a well-laden ship with families together!
The game has beautiful illustrations and will appeal to all lovers of furry parades and fans of Ubongo and similar games.
