Oathsworn is a game of twisting tales for 1-4 players, focusing on narrative choices and rich miniature battles. The game takes place in the Deep Forest, where the Free Society (Oathsworn) fights for humanity's survival against unnatural horrors and the Deep Forest itself.
During each game session, players engage with a multi-path gamebook, where the story unfolds leading to inevitable confrontations. The confrontations are multi-phase scripted battles with bosses on the battle board, where players must outsmart the monsters and enemies controlled by artificial intelligence. As the sessions progress, the group embarks on a deep narrative campaign, gaining levels, loot, and new allies who join them on their journey.
Oathsworn boasts a unique combat system called push your luck with exploding dice, where players must always decide between a stronger hit and the potential of missing the attack. This, combined with a euro-style system called "Battleflow," creates dynamic and engaging game sessions.
