In the cooperative adventure game Minecraft: Portal Dash, players try to escape from the fiery underworld of Minecraft, the Nether. They sprint through a rough landscape full of magma and lava, and must fend off dangerous monsters. Only if players complete the portal in time and defeat its monstrous guardians, can they survive the adventure together.
On their turn, players use their equipment to perform two actions. They use pickaxes to collect valuable blocks, use boots to move around the game board, and use swords and bows to defend against monsters. Throughout the game, they collect stronger equipment and gear up for a challenging adventure. In order to win together, players must navigate through the rough landscape of the Nether maps and defeat the boss monster waiting for them at the end of the game. It is important to collect the missing portal stones along the way, which requires a large amount of blocks. Players lose if they are delayed in delivering them or if they run out of block supplies. If a player's life points drop to zero, the team also loses.
