Being an animal in a zoo is not easy! Enclosures are too small for their needs, the daily routine is boring, and visitors are absolutely unpleasant and often throw trash into the enclosures. After an unfortunate incident, the zoo plans to move some animals to an even smaller partner park in just eight days. That's the last straw! The animals decide to escape and want to flee the zoo over the next seven days. But now the question arises, how to do it. Several ideas are born in their heads, and all that trash eventually becomes useful if the animals can gather enough of it. Unfortunately, the zookeepers clean up the trash every morning. And then there is an even bigger problem: How to make other animals understand? The monkeys scream excitedly, the elephant trumpets loudly. But what are they actually saying? Which items have they managed to collect? Which escape plan is the most promising? They must find a way to communicate because it's time to leave the zoo!

In the game KuZOOka, players start each round by receiving a new set of item cards that they must not show to each other. Instead, they try to indicate to others which cards they have and which escape plan they want to use by cleverly placing their marker on the game board. The colors of the individual items and numbers from lowest to highest are displayed on it. On their turn, a player must either propose a new plan by moving their animal marker one space further along the path than the previous player, or end the current escape attempt. In the latter case, all players reveal their items, and if the color and number of available items match the current escape plan proposal, the attempt is successful. Animals gain experience for each attempt, which gives them more cards in the following rounds. Only if they manage to gather enough items and communicate successfully will they be able to leave the zoo for good. Each animal also has a special ability that they can use once a day.
