Once upon a time in the beautiful Eastern Kingdom, the queen honored the gods by having a mystical pagoda built for them. The pagoda was dedicated to all four gods and towered over the entire kingdom. As time passed, the queen fell ill and decided that the crown would be passed to whoever built the most magnificent garden around the pagoda.

The goal of the game Four Gardens is to collect as many points by fulfilling landscape cards and completing sets. Each completed set creates a panorama around the pagoda, and these sets are also called panoramas. These panoramas can be built using foundation cards and gathering resources. Each god has their own satisfaction counter, which expresses their favor towards the builders. Players try to please the gods by completing landscape cards and building the mentioned panoramas.
