Product detailed description
Carnegie is a game inspired by the life of Andrew Carnegie, a Scottish native who traveled to America with his parents as a thirteen-year-old boy in 1848. Although he started out as a mere telegrapher, he eventually rose to become one of the most influential magnates of the steel industry and is still considered an icon of the American dream. Andrew Carnegie was also a patron and philanthropist. After his death in 1919, more than 350 million dollars were bequeathed to various foundations and 30 million to charities. Thanks to his donations, nearly 2500 public libraries were established, which still bear his name.
During the game, you hire new employees and distribute work among them, expand your business, invest in real estate, manufacture and sell goods, and establish transportation routes across the United States. You may even encounter significant personalities of the time. The game lasts for 20 rounds. Each player has one turn per round, during which they choose one of four actions. The goal of the game is to build the most prestigious company.
