Bloodstones is a war fantasy game for one to six players, representing six different races, each with its own specific abilities. Each of the six races in the game Bloodstones has its own mix of units represented by domino-shaped tiles. Some of these units are unique to a particular race, such as dragons for Dragon Riders and giants for Highlanders.

The goal of the game is to have as many victory points as possible at the end of the game, which can be obtained by building your own and raiding villages of other players and winning battles.

At the beginning of the game, players arrange their tiles into piles. From these, they draw an initial combination of nine stones. Then players decide where to place their citadel and which tiles will be attached to it. Tiles are multi-purpose. When placed on the game board, they become units, whose type is indicated by the symbol in the middle. While in hand, they can be used to build more units, to move units, to improve combat strength, to build villages, and to raid villages.

The main part of the game consists of player turns. When it's your turn, you can take any number of actions. However, some actions have restrictions on when you can perform them.

After completing all actions, you draw six more tiles that you have in hand. If you deplete your supply of tiles, shuffle the discarded tiles and create a new supply. You also earn victory points for villages you have on the game board.

The game ends when each player reaches a certain number of points. In a two-player game, it will be three times, in three or more players, it will be twice.
