During a visit to the Alhambra Palace in southern Spain, King Manuel I of Portugal was captivated by the beauty of Moorish decorative ceramic azulejos. These were originally white and blue. The king, carried away by the charm of the Alhambra's interior, immediately ordered his own palace in Portugal to be decorated with similar tiles. Become an artist with AZUL! Create designs and lay the tiles that will adorn the walls of the royal palace in Evora.

In Azul you will collect mosaic tiles from ceramic workshops and create a mosaic wall in the beautiful palace of Evora.

The aim of the game is to become the player with the most points at the end of the game. The game ends at the end of the round in which at least one player completes a horizontal row of 5 consecutive tiles on his wall.

Players score points for completing both vertical and horizontal rows of tiles and for sets of five tiles of the same colour on their wall.

Player boards have two sides for 2 slightly different variations of the game.
