Almoravid: Reconquista and Riposte in Spain, 1085-1086 is a board war game about two turbulent campaigns of the Spanish Reconquista - the advance of the Leonese king Alfonso VI against the scattered Muslim Taifa states in the 11th century and the subsequent intervention of a fundamentalist African Muslim army that tried to push the Christians back. It is the second part of the Levy & Campaign series from GMT Games, which depicts medieval military operations.
Players will assemble and equip their armies and send them to ravage or conquer disputed territories and defeat enemy forces. Feudal obligations and alliances will provide the lordship of lords and vassals who will serve on the campaign, but only for a limited time. Players must keep track of the calendar and reward lords to keep them in the field.
