Product detailed description
A Touch of Evil: Dark Gothic is a deck-building game from the A Touch of Evil series by Flying Frog.
Each player in the game represents a certain hero who hunts monsters, and this hero determines the player's starting deck and grants them a special ability. Heroes cooperate to some extent to defeat villains and monsters, because if ten shadow cards fall during the game, they lose together. The game has only one winner - the player with the most investigation points at the end of the game. (Villains come in three difficulty levels and at the beginning of the game, you create a stack of villains from which one card of each difficulty level is randomly selected).
Three currencies are used in the game - combat (red), cunning (green), and spiritual (blue) - with some cards having a silver cost that can be paid with any currency. Players can acquire cards from a row of six available from the main deck, or from stacks of cards that are always available. If you are fighting the "hungry dead" - a card that is always available and costs one card of each color - you can take a card from the deck or from the main row.
"Dark Secrets" are a special type of card that is added to your deck in various ways. The card has a negative point value at the end of the game, but if you draw it during the game, you remove it from the game and then draw a "Shocking Discovery" - which will affect you or all players with some harmful effect.
