When the buttons need to be removed, just turn counterclockwise and they're out.
The fuel gauge doesn't lock into the cardboard by turning it due to the different shape, but is made to fit exactly into the slot and not fall out easily.
The main problem with unintentional movement with the altitude and airport plates is solved by a bracket/pad that once you put it on the game board, it stays there.
No more losing track of approach and altitude or misplacing aircraft chips when moving the board. You can even leave the altitude indicator in the box when you store the board, which is used in all missions, so preparing the next game is just one less thing to do.
